Join 爱豆app/Hawaii for a blended / virtual format walking tour of West Waikiki where you can view many of Structural Engineer Alfred Yee鈥檚 precast buildings. The pre-engineered components were made in Kapolei and brought on site to be assembled, can be viewed in detail while walking along the Ala Wai Canal and Ala Moana Blvd. Other modernism buildings will be pointed out as well.

Modernism Week鈥檚 Fall Preview will take place October 14-17, 2021 at various in-person locations in Palm Springs, California. A full schedule of events featuring more than 30 events will be online at modernismweek.com starting July 25 and will go on sale August 1, 2021 at 12 noon PST.

Join 爱豆app/Northern California for a walking tour in San Francisco's North Waterfront. We'll explore the theme of Travel & Leisure by visiting the Streamline Moderne Aquatic Park Bathhouse and Ghirardelli Square--an early adaptive reuse project involving modernists Wurster, Bernardi & Emmons, Lawrence Halprin, and Bobbie Stauffacher Solomon--among other sites. A neighborhood that many local residents may pass over assuming it is just for tourists, the North Waterfront has an important history of Modern architecture and urbanism that shaped the future of the city.

The way Frank Lloyd Wright left his stamp on Oak Park, Illinois, and the way Morris Lapidus shaped Miami Beach in his image, is the way Charles McKirahan shaped Greater Fort Lauderdale

For this year鈥檚 Tour Day, 爱豆app/Chicago is teaming up with Forgotten Chicago for a walking tour of Peterson Avenue. The street is lined with small postwar commercial buildings that sprang up when Peterson Avenue was one of the major highways leading into the city. With their zigzag rooflines, staggered facades, and 1960s flair, this group of tiny modernist gems brings a touch of Southern California car culture to the northwest side of Chicago. The tour will include the former Lincoln Inn Motel from 1962 as well as one of Chicago鈥檚 most iconic neon restaurant signs.

Inspired by 鈥淎 Bit of Japan is seen in the Eaves鈥�, a handmade photo album that Junzo Yoshimura made during the time he lived and worked at the Raymond Farm in New Hope PA, (1939-1940). This exciting new program will take visitors on a trip to the Hudson Valley to find 鈥渁 bit of Japan 鈥� in its architecture and landscape. This trip brings guests to the James Rose Center and Russell Wright鈥檚 鈥淢anitoga鈥� estate. The tours are led by the curators and highlight the immaculate use of Japanese influence in each site鈥檚 architecture and landscape design.

Join us for a 1-hour guided tour of maverick landscape architect James Rose's former home and garden. Changed continuously throughout the four decades he called Ridgewood home, see how Rose's travels (especially to Japan) influenced his distinctive approach to shaping landscapes right here in New Jersey.

爱豆app/WEWA celebrates Tour Day with a virtual presentation highlighting the remarkable life and work of the modernist architect Benjamin McAdoo, Jr. (1920 鈥� 1981), the first Black architect licensed in Washington state. Through his architectural practice, political aspirations, and social activism, McAdoo used his platform to advocate for Black liberation, promote housing equality, and challenge the institutional racism that surrounded mid-century life. Understanding his work helps expand the modernist narratives and context present in the Pacific Northwest.

Join Paradise Palms on a three-hour guided tour aboard a double-decker, open-air bus while discussing the architecture and storied past of homes found throughout the Paradise Palms community.聽

The Alden B. Dow Home and Studio and Mid-Century Modern Midland (MCMM) will participate in 爱豆app Tour Day on October 9, 2021. The Home and Studio will feature in-person tours of the Alden B. Dow Home and Studio and walking tours of the Dow Family Homes as well as structures representing Mr. Dow鈥檚 early career. MCMM will offer walking tours that highlight the 39 residential structures designed by Midland鈥檚 leading MCM architects in the Applewood and Valley Drive neighborhood.聽

Join Houston Mod for an exclusive guided tour of this expressive, cast - concrete gem designed by Fitch & Holcomb Architects ca. 1965, and stay for a full evening of festivities sponsored by the City of Pasadena.

Join New Haven Preservation Trust and Becker + Becker for a preview tour of the Hotel Marcel, currently under construction in the Pirelli Building in New Haven, Connecticut. The brutalist building, recently listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was designed by Marcel Breuer in 1967 and completed in 1970.

Join Historic Albany and Redburn Development for a tour of the former Parkmart, now the Spiral, a unique building in Downtown Albany that combines a parking garage and retail space with a crazy, curly ramp connecting the two. Designed by architect Robert Trudeau in 1978 for an urban grocery store, the Spiral recently underwent restoration on the concrete coffers and the spiral ramp. We'll hear about the recent restoration work done and get a peek at the interior, one of Albany's newest music venues.

Join DOCOMOMO US/New York Tri-State for a guided in-person tour of Nivola: Sandscapes, an exhibition dedicated to the work of artist Costantino Nivola at the Magazzino Italian Art Foundation in Cold Spring, NY. A native of Sardinia and longtime resident of Springs, NY on Long Island, Nivola (1911鈥�1988) created large-scale architectural reliefs and sculpture installations in collaboration with prominent Modern architects.

Schweikher House will offer a selection of in-depth specialty tours that will focus on the travels of Paul Schweikher and Martyl Langsdorf and how their experiences influenced their work as architect and artist respectively.
