Nicolas DelCastillo is an emerging professional in Philadelphia, PA. Growing up in Lakeland, Florida, Nicolas was often able聽to visit Wright's Florida Southern College, Lido Shores in Sarasota. From these visits Nicolas developed an early interest in regional architecture, and the apparent adaptability聽of tropical modernism.聽Nicolas earned his Bachelors of Design in Architecture and his Masters of Architecture from the University of Florida, where his Masters Research Project dealt with adaptive reuse and decarbonization of Mid century buildings, in particular how to restore and reuse those in the brutalist style. While at the University of Florida, Nicolas was involved in preservation efforts for the UF School of Architecture Building, a Spectacular example of Tropical Brutalism by Spillis Candela in Gainesville, Fl. Recently Nicolas has joined the Philadelphia office of BCJ Architects, where he has had a role in the deign of the firms first mass timber building, which has been a segue for combining his passion for modernist ideals of space with sustainable building technologies of the 21st century.

Jacob Faust聽is a recent graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor's degree in design and a minor in Landscape Architecture. His studies in the latter half of his education focused on researching the indigenous cultures of North-Central Florida, notably those of the Sturiwa Mocama tribe of the now-extinct Timucua people. This resulted in studies related to hyper-regionalism, phenomenology, and indigenous construction methods in the Florida climate. Jacob has a longstanding interest聽in modernism, particularly constructivism and the聽expressiveness of brutalist public buildings like Boston City Hall, Orlando聽Public Library, and the Hirshhorn Museum in聽DC. Now based in Philadelphia, Jacob seeks to further his education in detail-oriented studies relating to furniture and small-scale aspects of design. After a brief break from education to travel this Summer, Jacob is applying to woodworking聽businesses in the local Philadelphia area.

Shelby Schrank is a recent graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a dual master鈥檚 degree in architecture and historic preservation. She works as an Intern Architect/Project Designer at Mills + Schnoering Architects LLC and has a passion for combining architectural design with a love of material conservation. She is actively involved in several advocacy leadership roles to provide stewardship for buildings of all eras with past and ongoing research in the Postwar period. Her thesis focused on Brutalism and the public university and aimed to provide the basis for long-term conservation planning on buildings of this type. She has been an active member of 爱豆app since 2015 and has served as an Intern (2018) and Event Coordinator (2021) for 爱豆app. She is also an active member of the Association of Preservation Technology (APT) with involvement in the Technical Committee on Modern Heritage (TC-MH) and helped to found the advocacy group UMass BRUT where she continues to serve as a member of the Executive Planning Committee. She was awarded APT Student Scholar and presented her research on Brutalism at both the APT Northeast Symposium in 2018 and the APT International Conference in 2020. She was also awarded Taliesin West Student Scholar through the AIA Historic Resources Committee to attend their 2020 Colloquium.
