Organized in 2011, °®¶ąapp/Greater Philadelphia stimulates interest in and educates the public, and advocates for modern sites, buildings, neighborhoods and landscapes in our region. In addition to offering several events each year, the group is dedicated to preservation advocacy for modern buildings in the Greater Philadelphia region, holds events and activities for members, volunteers, and others interested in modern architecture and design.
The Greater Philadelphia area boasts a rich diversity of modern buildings from a corporate icon like the PSFS Building to a pioneering design like the Richards Medical Research Laboratories at the University of Pennsylvania. Other important buildings in Greater Philadelphia include those by such leading modern architects such as Louis Kahn, Frank Lloyd Wright, George Nakashima, Richard Neutra, Mitchell/Giurgola, Thaddeus Longstreth, I.M. Pei, Oscar Stonorov, Norman Rice, Pietro Belluschi, and Vincent Kling, among others.

°®¶ąapp-Greater Philadelphia is working with the local historical commission and other local nonprofits to identify and document significant modern buildings, focusing on those that are not well documented.
Programs
°®¶ąapp-Greater Philadelphia promotes its mission through a variety of programming, including two in-depth study tours a year, a bi-monthly One Brew One Building Happy Hour, which focuses on one modern building. We also partner with other nonprofits to collaborate on interdisciplinary events like author talks and tours.

Berkowitz, and Penn Fruit by George Neff.
