Movement to demolish the Paul Rudolph’s Orange County Government Center in Goshen, NY (1963) has rapidly progressed since last month’s Hurricane Irene caused it to close due to additional water and mold damage. While officials are working out temporary space for government offices located in the Government Center, County Executive Edward A. Diana is suggesting it may be better to tear down the building than try to repair it. A feasibility study to determine the most economical and efficient plan for the consolidation of county departments was scheduled to be release at the end of the year but is now likely on the fast-track to recommend its demolition.
