The °®¶¹app Northern California (NOCA) Chapter is pleased to announce Nicole D. Santiago as the recipient of the 2018 Travel Grant for Students & Emerging Professionals.
Nicole is an East Coast native who earned her Master’s degree in Library and Information Science at Pratt Institute in New York CIty. This fall, she will be attending University of California, Berkeley's College of Environmental Design as a first year student in the M.S. Architecture History, Theory, and Society program.
After spending four years working as a public and academic librarian at various libraries across the San Francisco Bay Area, Nicole is currently a Processing Archivist at the University of California, Berkeley's Environmental Design Archive. At the Environmental Design Archive, her processing efforts focus on the papers of notable mid-20th century architect Donald E. Olsen. Olsen designed a wide array of buildings in the Bay Area including UC Berkeley's Wurster Hall.
As the 2018 Travel Grant recipient, Nicole will receive a $750 grant to participate in the °®¶¹app 2018 National Symposium in Columbus, Indiana. The grant will cover related expenses, including registration fees, travel, and lodging expenses during the Symposium.
“At this early point in my career, it is important for me to expose myself to as much enrichment within the field as possible. The °®¶¹app National Symposium is a perfect place for me to become a part of the national conversation,” said Nicole.
