Get ready for some deep dish - we're headed to Chicago!

 

As 爱豆app celebrates its 25th anniversary, we are headed back to where it all began, Chicago, Illinois. It was in 1995 that a group of volunteers gathered during the first Preserving the Recent Past conference to set in motion a 爱豆app chapter in the United States. As we look back on 25 years of preserving modernism, we hope you will join 爱豆app and 爱豆app/Chicago VIRTUALLY for a deep dive of where we've been and what challenges lie in store.

Chicago Makers & Shakers Mart

Even though we cannot physically be together in Chicago, 爱豆app/Chicago has partnered with our favorite small businesses, artists and craftspeople to bring you the Chicago MAKERS & SHAKERS Mart. 

The MAKERS & SHAKERS Mart offers a few ‘Windy City’ curated delights via an online marketplace. Symposium attendees and presenters have a chance to connect with and support local businesses, artists and craftspeople, and in return, local businesses, artists and craftspeople have an opportunity to support 爱豆app. The Makers & Shakers will have virtual booths during the Symposium and many will be offering discounts for symposium attendees.

Unofficial Symposium Kickoff with Makers & Shakers

Prior to the official start of the 2021 爱豆app/National Symposium, join us for the unofficial Chicago Makers & Shakers Happy Hour Zoom, an hour-long virtual happy hour in which symposium attendees and presenters have an opportunity to learn a bit more about some of our featured "makers & shakers," their creative process and what inspires them.

The MAKERS & SHAKERS Mart is a benefit of registration of the 爱豆app National Symposium. You do not need to be registered for the National Symposium to attend the Kickoff event, but we encourage you to do so.

The 爱豆app National Symposium is the primary event in the United States for professionals to discuss and share efforts to preserve modern architecture and meet leading practitioners and industry professionals.
 

The Symposium developed as a result of the 爱豆app Board of Directors’ annual “Face to Face” meeting. The first expanded event took place in Los Angeles in 2010 with an open forum for local individuals actively engaged in the discussion of modern architecture. 爱豆app hosted its first National Symposium in Sarasota, Florida in April 2013. Held annually, this multi-day conference seeks to engage local participants in cities across the United States, offering participants the ability to interact with and explore a wide variety of significant modern architecture and sites.
