Modernist Residential Experiment: Three Case Studies of Regional Innovators
This session will explore several influential regional architectural practices and some of their most pioneering residential projects. Reflecting local environments and changing needs in living, these practitioners created new residential developments ranging from single family homes to multi-family townhome complexes to entire self-governing communities. These projects provided solutions to postwar issues facing cities, most notably rapid suburbanization in Chicago, Dallas, and Albuquerque.
