The Alden B. Dow Home & Studio and Mid-Century Modern Midland are pleased to announce the Hidden Treasures Tour. This event will feature three homes that epitomize the quality, diversity and beauty of Midland’s Mid-Century Modern architectural heritage. Each of the three homes possess hidden design elements and detailing unseen elsewhere.
Homes on the tour:
- The Greene Residence, Alden B. Dow, 1936
Private and nestled on the corner of the Midland Country Club golf course, this home offers dynamic spaces, distinctive and colorful saw-tooth windows, a chevron-detailed fireplace, and expansive views, inviting the outdoors inside. - The Allison Residence, Harvey Allison, 1958
Hidden from public view, yet open to Valley Park, this home is a beautiful oasis of light and calm, featuring massive beams, large vertical windows, and a serene environment, balancing light, materials, and space. - The Bennett Residence, Alden B. Dow, 1950
Cloaked inside a traditional exterior, the modern interior of this home provides a welcome surprise. Floor-to-ceiling windows make nature the centerpiece, balanced masterfully with Dow’s signature built-in furniture and lighting design.
