Join the °®¶¹app/DC chapter for a walking tour of the Modernist grounds and exterior buildings of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) campus, designed and built in the 1960s by Voorhees Walker Smith Smith and Haines.
Recognized for its significant advances in the history of science and technology in addition to its acclaimed mid-century modern architectural design and campus planning principles of the post WWII Suburban, the NIST campus was included in the National Register of Historic Places in August of 2021.
The tour will be led by Phillip Neuberg, Architect & Federal Preservation Officer (NIST).
